The domain list

Question tags follow the five domains on the EMT certification examination that the National Registry put in place on 7 April 2025: scene size-up and safety, primary assessment, secondary assessment, patient treatment and transport, and operations. That outline is a public description of what the exam covers. It is not a source of questions, and we do not reproduce it.

The National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians is not affiliated with this site. “NREMT” is their mark. We use it to name the exam people are studying for.

The rules inside a rationale

A rationale rests on a standard teaching point: scene safety before patient contact, open the airway before oxygen, control life-threatening bleeding in the primary assessment, SAMPLE and OPQRST in the secondary, assist with a patient’s own epinephrine auto-injector and transport, stay out of a fuel spill. Those points are the common content of EMT courses. They are not quoted from a licensed item bank.

Exam facts on the homepage

Item counts, the 2-hour limit, pilot items, domain weights, and all-or-nothing scoring come from the National Registry’s EMT Examination Specifications (test plan for the exam that began April 7, 2025). The 950 passing point is in the EMT candidate handbook. Retest timing and the six-attempt limit are the Registry’s retesting policy. First-attempt pass rates by program are from a National Registry report published by the Florida Department of Health.

Official sample packets, paid banks, and other prep sites are not sources. If a question here resembles something you saw elsewhere, tell us and we will replace it.
